Testimonials

I installed a windmill on my farm last July and have been greatly impressed with the quality----so much so that I wanted to start selling them.  It has given me great peace of mind knowing that I have a completely renewable source of power.

Gas and diesel generators are expensive and will not be of much use in a crises situation. Needless to say, these non-renewable units don't work without fuel. Beyond this, it has given me a great sense of pride knowing that I am doing my part to foster a more environmentally-positive future.

Below is a picture of the windmill that I installed on my farm outside of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.   I elected not to use the 6 inch diameter pole that comes with the kit, and instead chose to mount the turbine on my old windmill tower.

My background as a NASA aerospace engineer has given me good insight into just how well these windmills are made.  Most of the 1kw windmills turbines out there are small light-weight models weighing in at less than 50 pounds, whereas the Mongi-Mills are built like a tank!  The Mongi-Mill turbine itself (no blades, tail, etc---just the motor itself) weighs in at nearly 100 lbs.  This translates to a higher rotating inertia yielding longer periods of sustained power.  Furthermore, anything with a duty cycle like a windmill needs to be built “heavy” to stand the test of time.  The entire package weighs in at nearly 451 pounds.   I like to refer to the Mongi-Mill as a “windmill in a box”.  In literally one weekend you can be up and running.

I was most impressed with the QUALITY and the "QUANTITY" of windmill for the price. This kit is as close to turn-key as they come. All you need is a Saturday, some concrete and four 12 volt batteries----the rest of what you need is in the kit.  Don't be fooled by what might appear to be a lower price.  Remember, this kit comes with nearly everything you will need including the 6" diameter windmill tower and inverter!   I am proud to be the sole USA distributor of Mongi-Mills of Quebec, Canada.

How the windmill works:  The windmill puts out 3 phase AC power which is fed into the inverter/charge controller.  In turn, the inverter/charger controller charges and stores power in a 48V battery bank.  When the inverter is turned "off" it serves as a charge controller only.  When the inverter is turned "on" it serves as both a charge controller and an inverter delivering 110 AC current.   The inverter has an internal load diversion element to prevent the batteries from overcharging.  The windmill is capable of producing 1.2kw at peak power.
